On average with these sites, the time period is usually three months.  This is usually long enough to check out the site, develop a conversation with any interesting candidates and decide if you want to go further and meet them.  If you don't access the site on a regular basis it could take up to six months or more. more

If a new member does not cancel during the trial period, there is no refund issued.  Customers are charged a monthly fee and this fee is not refundable.  Customers may cancel at any time  and they will not be charged for a new monthly period.   Customers may cancel by going to their account page or by calling customer service. more

eHarmony does not accept personal checks.  The company does accept debit cards if the cards are affiliated with one of the credit cards that the company takes.  These are Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express.  The company only accepts credit cards for payment at this time. more

Casey in Real Life provided an answer to this question in this review of eHarmony:To obtain a refund, users may cancel their subscriptions anytime prior to midnight of the third business day after the date of purchase. Anytime a subscription is cancelled beyond the three day period or if the subscription charge is on Automatic Renewal, users will not be eligible for a refund. If users managed to arrange a payment plan for their subscription with eHarmony, cancelling the subscription after the third day will not stop the remaining payments from being charged to the selected payment method... more
